The trailer of Simbu’s upcoming film ‘Pathu Thala’ was launched at a midnight event in Chennai. The plot demonstrates combat between a cop & a gangster.
The movie, directed by Obeli N Krishna, stars Simbu in the lead role of an underworld gangster, while Gautham Karthik plays a cop trying to take him down. The movie will be released in theaters on March 30.
The trailer, which is two minutes and sixteen seconds long, gives viewers a glimpse of Simbu’s character as AGR and the narrative of how he became a gangster.
The action-packed visuals are sure to entice fans and moviegoers, as they eagerly await to see Simbu in this interesting yet violent role.
The cast of the film also includes Gautham Vasudev Menon, Santhosh Prathap, Redin Kingsley, Kalaiyarasan, Teejay Arunasalam, and Anu Sithara, among others.
The music for the movie is composed by Rahman, and if ‘Pathu Thala’ becomes a success, it will mark a hat-trick of hits for Simbu after ‘Maanadu’ and ‘Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu.’ The film is a cop-gangster drama inspired by the Kannada film ‘Mufti.’
He was last seen in ‘Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu,’ directed by Vasudev Menon. He had signed up for his next film tentatively titled ‘STR 48,’ which will be directed by Desingh Periasamy and produced by Kamal Haasan.
The teaser for ‘Pathu Thala’ had already got a lot of attention earlier this month, and the trailer has only raised the excitement among fans and movie enthusiasts.
With just two weeks left for the release of the film, the makers have left no stone unturned in promoting it, and it remains to be seen whether the movie will live up to the expectations of its audience.
The film’s director, Obeli N Krishna, reportedly approached actor Simbu following his performance in “Dum” to work on the movie “Sillinu Oru Kadhal,” according to reports made during the trailer’s debut.
He further stated that the story in the movie was different from the one created by Suriya and Jyothika. According to reports, Silmbu said that the movie would have been a smash hit if he had agreed to work on it.
Simbu also praised filmmaker Krishna, saying that it was because of his refusal to work with him in the past that he was given the opportunity to direct “Pathu Thala” today.
