Shaitaan Crosses Rs 54 Crore Mark in Three Days
Ajay Devgn’s latest release, the supernatural horror thriller “Shaitaan,” has taken the box office by storm. With no major competitors in the arena, the film has been steadily climbing the box office charts, delivering an impressive performance over its opening weekend.
Day-wise Breakdown
The film kicked off its theatrical run on Friday with an opening day collection of Rs 14.75 crore. Building on this momentum, “Shaitaan” saw a significant 27 per cent spike on Saturday, raking in Rs 18.75 crore. On its third day, Sunday, the movie recorded its highest single-day collection to date, earning an impressive Rs 20.5 crore.
With its cumulative domestic collection reaching Rs 54 crore within just three days, “Shaitaan” has crossed a coveted milestone. This remarkable achievement has set the stage for the film’s continued success at the box office.
Occupancy and Performance
On Sunday, the film enjoyed an overall occupancy rate of 36.24 per cent in the Hindi market. While morning shows saw a relatively lower occupancy of 21.35 per cent, the numbers steadily increased throughout the day, with afternoon shows recording 37.61 per cent occupancy and evening shows reaching a peak of 48.58 per cent. Surpassing Previous Records
While “Shaitaan” has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark within three days, it still falls short of surpassing the daily box office figures of Ajay Devgn’s previous hit, “Drishyam 2,” which earned Rs 64 crore in the same timeframe. Nevertheless, the film’s performance is commendable, and it remains to be seen if it can maintain its momentum in the coming days.
“Shaitaan” is a remake of the 2023 Gujarati film “Vash” and is jointly produced by Devgn Films, Jio Studios, and Panorama Studios. The movie boasts an impressive cast, including Ajay Devgn, Jyotika, and R Madhavan in lead roles. The music is composed by Amit Trivedi, while Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti serves as the cinematographer, and Sandeep Francis is the editor.
With its gripping storyline and strong performances, “Shaitaan” has captured the imagination of moviegoers across the country. As the film navigates the crucial Monday test, expectations remain high for its continued success at the box office.
