President, PM Pays Tribute To Atal Bihari Vajpayee On Birth Anniversary
Today marks a significant day in Indian politics. It’s the birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a respected former Prime Minister and a key figure in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, and other leaders, paid their respects at the ‘Sadaiv Atal’ memorial, honoring Vajpayee’s legacy.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee, born on December 25, 1924, was known for his excellent speaking skills and played a crucial role in shaping Indian politics.
He began his political career by getting elected to the Lok Sabha in 1957 and reached a high point in 1996 when he led the BJP to its first major victory in the general elections.
He is celebrated for successfully leading a stable government that completed a full term, a first for a non-Congress government in India.
Vajpayee’s approach to politics was unique. He managed to bridge ideological divides and brought the BJP to power during a challenging time. He was skilled at speaking a language of inclusivity, which helped the party gain broader acceptance. His leadership style and eloquence in Hindi made him a widely respected figure across different political spectrums.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised Vajpayee, referring to him as the ‘Ajat Shatru’ of politics, highlighting his ability to work in both favorable and challenging situations. He also noted Vajpayee’s contribution to demonstrating the benefits of stable governments.
This year is particularly special as it marks the beginning of Vajpayee’s centenary year. The Chief Minister mentioned that various programs would be organized throughout the year, culminating in a grand celebration on December 25, 2024.
