It’s the first time an express train has started in this region, improving travel to states like Jharkhand and West Bengal and the industrial town Rourkela in Odisha.
President Murmu explained that good connectivity, like roads and trains, is key for the development of any area. It makes life easier for people, helping them travel and do business better. She also emphasized that the new trains will make it simpler for locals to travel to nearby states and visit Rourkela.
Talking about the government’s efforts for tribal communities, President Murmu highlighted several initiatives. She mentioned the significant increase in the budget for tribal development compared to 2013-14. She stressed that developing tribal areas is a priority for inclusive growth.
The President also pointed out the launch of the PM JANMAN (PM- Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan) on Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, focusing on the progress of tribal communities.
The inauguration of the new Rairangpur Postal Division is another big step. Despite the rise of mobile phones and courier services, the postal service remains important. This new division means the people of the area can now easily access postal services, which is vital for communication and business.
President Draupadi Murmu also inaugurated Eklavya School. She was happy to note the setup of over 700 Eklavya Model Residential Schools across India. These schools offer quality education to tribal children in remote areas.
This helps these children get better opportunities for higher education and jobs in various sectors. The President, who comes from a similar background, emphasized the power of education in transforming lives and contributing to the country’s progress.
