Later this month, a brainstorming session will be convened to hammer out the Congress’ plan for strengthening the party’s structure at the base level and suggesting reforms inside the party.
Kishor, who has met with top Congress leaders multiple times, is said to have given them a presentation on the party’s election strategy, which includes the entry of Naresh Patel who is a Patidar politician in Gujarat.
According to insiders, the politicians also discussed the present political situation. Party leader Rahul Gandhi, as well as other senior leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge and KC Venugopal were there.
Ambika Soni and Digivijay Singh also came. As well as Ajay Maken, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also came, but they were not party leaders.
KC Venugopal, a member of Congress, said,
“Prashant Kishor gave the Congress chief a detailed outline on the 2024 election strategy. The strategy he outlined will be overseen by a committee appointed by the Congress leader, which will provide a report to the party chairman within a week for an ultimate decision.“
The existence of Kishor has sparked much conjecture regarding the poll strategist’s role in the party. Last year, Kishor predicted that voters would not quickly reject the BJP.
Kishore was overheard saying in a viral video clip, “The BJP would be at the heart of Indian politics… Whether they win or lose, the BJP is heading nowhere, as it has for the past 40 years.“
He continued, “You’re not going anywhere anytime soon if you get 30% or more of the vote in India. So, never fall into the trap of people becoming enraged and throwing (PM Narendra) Modi out.“
