‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ Box Office Collection Crosses ₹100 Crore Worldwide

Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Trisha-starrer film Ponniyin Selvan 2 (PS-2) box office collection has crossed ₹150 cr worldwide in just 3 days.
Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2 by director Mani Ratnam is now dominating the global box office. The movie exceeded Rs 150 crore globally in barely three days. The movie is doing exceptionally well at the foreign box office in addition to the home box office.
At this pace, Lyca Productions will be able to turn a profit on the movie. However, both critics and viewers have had conflicting opinions about the movie.
On April 28, Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2 debuted in theaters to much anticipation. The movie was released across all of India in five different languages: Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.

In North America, PS-2 is receiving a wonderful reception. The movie grossed more than $3 million (about Rs. 24 crore) in just three days.
Mani Ratnam is the director of the historical fiction film Ponniyin Selvan. The popular Tamil literary novel of the same name by Kalki Krishnamurthy is the source material for the movie.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha, Karthi, and Jayam Ravi play the main characters in the high-budget movie. Over Rs 500 crore were made worldwide from the first installment.
Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2 composer AR Rahman has won accolades for his work on the film. The work of editor Sreekar Prasad and cinematographer Ravi Varman has also been praised.
Ramesh Bala, a film industry observer, confirmed the development in a tweet. On Twitter, Bala wrote: “Ponniyin Selvan 2 surpassed Rs 150 crore gross at the worldwide box office in 3 days.”
According to the production company Lyca Productions, the movie also enjoyed a successful start in North America, where it took in more than $3 million, or around Rs 24 crore, in just three days.
