Payal Ghosh asks for lie detector test for Anurag Kashayp after the filmmaker denies allegations in front of the police
Hindi movie director and producer Anurag Kashyap had released a statement through his lawyer after he was accused of sexual harassment by actor Payal Ghosh where he denied all the claims of the actor.
Anurag Kashyap was accused of sexual assault by Ghosh and was questioned by the police on October 1. A day after his questioning by the police, his lawyer released a statement where he asserted that Kashyap has provided authorities with an alibi for the period in which the alleged incident took place.
This statement did not go well with Ghosh who asked for a narco analysis and lie detector test for the director. The actor had tweeted tagging the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah demanding a lie detector and polygraph test along with narco analysis.
“Mr. Kashyap has lied before the police in his statement.. My Lawyer is moving an application to conduct Narco Analysis, Lie Detector & Polygraph Test of Mr. Kashyap to find out the truth. Today an application will be filed to the police station, for the interest of Justice,” said Ghosh through her Twitter handle.
Priyanka Khimani, lawyer of the director, filed documents that showed that Kashyap was in Sri Lanka in 2013, the time for which claims were made, shooting for his movies. In her statement on Friday, she wrote, “Mr Kashyap has provided documentary proof of the fact that throughout August, 2013 he was away in Sri Lanka in connection with the shooting of one of his films. Mr Kashyap has categorically denied that any such alleged incident ever took place and has also denied all allegations levelled against him.”
She further added that these accusations were made to disgrace the filmmaker and he is deeply impacted by these claims. She added that Kashyap looks to pursue legal remedies available to him as he is distressed with the false allegations made against him which have affected his family and fans also. An FIR was filed against the filmmaker after the claims of Payal Ghosh of rape and assault on the woman.
