Now You Can Transfer WhatsApp Chats To Your New Phones Using QR Code
WhatsApp, the instant messaging platform owned by Meta (formerly Facebook), has introduced a new feature that allows users to transfer their chats from one device to another using a QR code. This method ensures faster and more secure chat transfers without the need for cloud storage.
Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, announced the feature on Instagram, highlighting its privacy benefits. The new chat transfer method enables users to move their conversations to a new phone without their chats ever leaving their devices. This addresses concerns about data privacy and ensures a more localized transfer process.
In a video shared on the Meta Channel, the process of transferring chats between two Android devices is demonstrated.
The user scans a QR code on the new device to initiate the transfer. Both devices need to be connected to the same local Wi-Fi network for the transfer to occur.
To use this feature, users need to follow a few simple steps. First, they must ensure that both the old and new devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Then, on the old phone, they can open WhatsApp, go to Settings, and navigate to Chats and Chat transfer.
A QR code will appear on the screen. Finally, the user needs to scan this QR code from the new device to complete the chat transfer.
This is the first time WhatsApp has introduced a local transfer method within the same operating system.
Traditionally, chat transfers have relied on cloud storage, but this new QR code feature offers a quicker and more convenient alternative for users.
By eliminating the need for third-party apps and utilizing local data transfer, WhatsApp ensures a more private and efficient process.
The introduction of this QR code feature will make the WhatsApp chats transfer process very easy as it doesn’t require any cloud storage connection. It may be an easy & secure way for users.
