Lohri Celebrations Took Place Vibrantly in Delhi: PM Modi Points Out its Significance
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has attended the Lohri celebrations which are held in Naraina in Delhi. Previously, he attended the Pongal celebrations at the residence of Union Minister G Kisan Reddy. Other dignitaries including Union Minister L.Murugan and actor Chiranjeevi took part in the Lohri celebration.

What is Lohri and its significance?
Lohri is a special festival which is celebrated during the winter season in the Northern part of India and it is celebrated as Sankranti & Pongal in the southern part India. The significance of Lohri is renewal and hope, & it is the season to welcome the longer days of summer.
“Lohri has special significance for all people, especially those of North India. It is a symbol of renewal and hope. It is also associated with agriculture and our hard-working farmer” said PM Modi on his X account.
