‘Jailer’ Crosses ₹350 Crore Worldwide In 5 Days, Expected To Soar On I-Day
Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest movie “Jailer” has been a massive hit at the box office, crossing a whopping ₹350 crore in just five days globally. This success comes after his previous film “Annaathe” didn’t fare as well.
“Jailer” is not only setting the box office on fire but also reaffirming Rajinikanth’s superstar status. Released on August 10 worldwide, the film has received positive feedback from both critics and audiences.
The movie is bringing people back to theaters, with its collection slightly dropping on Monday, August 14, which is common for weekdays. Still, it managed to earn around ₹28 crore net at the Indian box office, taking its five-day total to ₹178.60 crore in India alone.
Trade analyst Ramesh Bala revealed on Twitter that “Jailer” had surpassed ₹350 crore on August 14. The film is performing exceptionally well not only in India but also in overseas markets.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, “Jailer” is a commercial action entertainer starring Rajinikanth as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian.
The film features Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, and Vasanth Ravi in lead roles. Notably, Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, and Jackie Shroff also appear in exciting cameo roles.
Produced by Sun Pictures, the movie has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The technical crew includes cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan and editor R Nirmal.
The film’s success is anticipated to continue, with expectations that it will cross the ₹350 crore mark soon, especially with the Independence Day holiday boosting collections.
The movie has gained huge positive reviews, marking Rajinikanth’s strong comeback to the big screen. It’s worth noting that “Jailer” has performed exceptionally well in foreign countries too, earning over ₹105 crore outside India.
