India Sets New Record With Fastest Team 100 In Test Match
India achieved a new record in the second Test against the West Indies by scoring the fastest team hundred. Captain Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal had a strong opening partnership, helping India reach 100 runs in just 12.2 overs.
This broke the previous record held by Sri Lanka for 22 years. India declared their second innings at 181/2, setting the West Indies a target of 365 to win.
At stumps, the West Indies were 76/2 and needed to score 289 more runs on the last day to level the series. In the first innings, the West Indies were bowled out for 255 in response to India.
Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal broke the record for the highest partnership aggregate by an Indian opening pair in a two-match Test series.
They scored a total of 466 runs in the series against the West Indies. In the second innings of the second Test, they added 98 runs at a fast run-rate. India also broke the record for the fastest team hundred in Test cricket, reaching 100 runs in 12.2 overs.
Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma has set a new world record by becoming the first batter in Test history to score 30 consecutive double-digit scores.
He achieved this feat during the India-West Indies 2nd Test match, where he also scored a 35-ball half-century, the fastest of his Test career.
