ICC Ends India-Pakistan Venue Row with Hybrid Model for 2025 Trophy
The end of the venues conflict between India and Pakistan of the 2025 Champions Trophy through hybrid model by the International Cricket Council (ICC). This means that India will play all their games at a third venue, probably Dubai while Pakistan retains the main hosting rights for the tournament set for February 19 to March 9, 2025.
The agreement also has other advantages for Pakistan because the ICC has granted them the right to host the Women’s T20 World Cup in 2028. On this, ICC stated, “Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been awarded hosting rights of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2028, where neutral venue arrangements will also apply.” It also sets a condition that Pakistan will have to play their matches at neutral venues for the ICC events in India until 2027. The eight nations’ Champions Trophy will be Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, New Zealand, South Africa along with India and Pakistan.
