Terms Of Agitated Farmers: In order to ensure the safety of the striking farmers, Haryana Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala had said that the Centre has agreed to the terms of the farmers and would be stating the same in the written form.
The Minimum Support Price (MSP) will be put down in writing and then it will be up to the farm unions to decide on the same. Making a public statement to the media, Chautala has said that every penny of whatever is purchased from the farmers will go into their bank account. This will be put into motion as soon as the MSP has been stated on paper by the Centre.
While the protests are ongoing, the deputy CM shared that the Haryana government was ensuring that law and order was maintained at the protest sites. In order to secure the safety and health concerns of the agitating farmers, the Haryana government has deployed over 1,000 employees of civil administration, besides doctors and health care staff, red cross staff, and sanitation workers were working round the clock to ensure the safety and security of the farmers who have gathered at such sites.
The farmer agitation has been against the fact that the government is trying to regulate the process of procurement of grain from the farmer community. The idea is to get rid of the middleman and involve the private sector to engage with the farmers directly. The large-scale agitation is primarily being held by the bigger aggregator farmers that have let out their pieces of land and collect crop from those employed on them.
