Harjinder Singh announced as Chef de Mission for Beijing Winter Olympics
Beijing – Amid the ongoing discussions about many countries boycotting the upcoming Beijing winter Olympics, India has announced Harjinder Singh as India’s Chef de Mission on Monday.
The Indian Olympic Association made the official announcement saying that they named Singh, the Ice Hockey Association of India’s general secretary, as the Chef de Mission for the mega event.
This is the second time that the official has been made the Chef de Mission of the Indian contingent as he served the same position for the 23rd Winter Olympic Games too, which was held in Pyeongchang, South Korea in 2018.

The president Narinder Batra also confirmed the news as he shared two pictures of him where the officials are seen receiving the appointment. The sporting event will be held from February 4 to 20.
Many nations have already decided to boycott the 24 editions of the showpiece which include–US, UK, Australia, Lithuania, and Canada. Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed that they will be attending the opening of the Winter Olympics as a show of unity. From India, there is only one participant, Arif Khan, who has qualified for the upcoming games.
