Coronavirus Case: The threat of the coronavirus refuses to be diffused in India and many other parts of the world but there are some states that are experiencing far more threats than the rest.
In India, there are five states which have seen a rise in the number of active cases revealing government’s data. As per the data revealed by the Union Ministry of Health and family Welfare, the five states are Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan.
“These are the states where the Centre has rushed expert teams so that they can help the state government on ground in disease management and other issues that may be hampering outbreak control,” said Rajesh Bhushan, the union secretary of the ministry.
Since the start of this month, the ministry compiled the data that showed that the number of active cases in Punjab have increased by 3,585 cases. Himachal Pradesh has also seen a huge rise in the active cases with an increase of 54,069. The central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh saw a jump of 5,842 while cases in Haryana and Rajasthan grew by 6,171 and 13,551 respectively.
Punjab has the highest caseload with 1,38,65 followed by Rajasthan with 30,305 and Haryana 20,200. MP and Himachal Pradesh have lesser cases when compared to these states.
Having said that, some states have shown improvement in controlling the virus spread especially after showing a continuous, dangerous trend of rising numbers of coronavirus cases. The states to have registered a decline are Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and West bengal.
Maharashtra has the highest number of coronavirus cases in India but after witnessing a continuous rise in the numbers, the coronavirus cases have somehow been controlled by the state which is followed by Karnataka. The southern state was known to have managed the pandemic well at the start of it, which was credited to the aware and informed population of the state, but slowly it too saw a huge rise in the cases.
There are four southern states in the top five states with the highest number of cases. The government revealed that the country has done nearly 140 million Covid-19 tests. These tests have 6.69% positivity rate while average daily positivity rate of 3.72% which was recorded last week.
Current cases in the country are 43,152 while the daily recoveries stand at 47,159. Bhushan added,“The trend of average daily recoveries outnumbering average daily new cases continues even in the month of November, which is positive news for the country’s Covid-19 situation as overall active caseload is decreasing steadily.”
