Drivers from Ferrari and Mercedes are certain that Aston Martin is in the race for first place in Formula One.
As stated by the Ferrari and Mercedes drivers, Aston Martin will begin the season “totally in the fight” at the head of the 2023 Formula 1 field.
In Bahrain’s lone preseason test last week, Aston Martin’s AMR23’s acceleration caused several to take notice. This expectation of a major rise in the standings coincided with Fernando Alonso joining the squad.
Although Aston avoided comment following its impressive test, its competitors think the team will enter the lead fight. Aston has finished seventh in each of the previous two seasons.
Max Verstappen, the two-time defending champion and preseason favorite for 2023, praised the team’s strategy but wasn’t quite as conclusive as his opponents.

Alonso is scheduled to compete alongside Lance Stroll, who is in Bahrain recovering from surgery that prevented him from participating in the pre-season test.
