Empuraan Movie Review: Early Reactions to Mohanlal-Prithviraj’s Blockbuster

The wait is over! Empuraan, sequel to the popular Lucifer, has released on theatres around the world, driving crazy fans. Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and featuring Mohanlal as the lead, the film already rocked the Indian as well as overseas audiences with a power-packed promotional campaign and stunning visuals.
Not Just Style- It’s All About Substance
In the now refreshing interview with SCREEN, Prithviraj made it clear that empuraan hasn’t just any kind of fancy action scene and glossy cinematography. “I know that’s what ultimately comes to people’s minds after watching the teaser and trailer,” he said. “But make no mistake, it is a content-driven film. The story is very deep and cohesive. Without a solid narrative, we would never have attempted something like this.”
According to him, Empuraan is not simply a big-budget entertainer-it’s a film with layers, intrigue, and storytelling at its soul.
Power-Packed Cast
Returning to the Lucifer universe, Mohanlal, Prithviraj, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Indrajith reprise of course, much to everyone’s joy. But that’s not the end of it all. The film has quite an interesting ensemble cast: Abhimanyu Singh, Game of Thrones fame Jerome Flynn, Eriq Ebouaney, Suraj Venjaramoodu.
Epic Production Supported by Industrial Giants
Written by Murali Gopy, this Empuraan is produced by Antony Perumbavoor along with Gokulam Gopalan, under the banners of Aashirvad Cinemas Pvt Ltd and Sree Gokulam Movies, respectively. With such big names backing the project, everyone has their expectations sky-high.
