Nadaaniyan Movie Storyline Cast, Crew, Release Date, & OTT Details
Nadaaniyan, a rom-com on Netflix that Dharmatic Entertainment produces, fails to aim at balancing high-school love with serious social issues. Directed by Shauna Gautam, the film stars Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor in a tale of fake dating, family drama, and class differences set up in an elite school in Delhi.
Love Story with a Predictable Twist
Nadaaniyan is a story of Pia Jaisingh (Khushi Kapoor), a rich and privileged girl who struggles to meet the expectations of her family, and Arjun Mehta (Ibrahim Ali Khan), a driven student from Noida who gets a scholarship. Pia needed a fake boyfriend to keep her ‘world’ from falling apart; thus, she’s been hitched with the school’s best debater and star swimmer- Arjun. From shallow pretense, it will turn itself into something real, so much so that conflict will arise between their families and social groups.
Depicts a sparkling world, which does not seem real at all. The university, Falcon High School, is referred to as such because it is posh and very few students are shown attending classes. Hyperbolic rivalry between the rich and middle class through food comparisons (aloo-gobhi vs squid ink pasta) and jokes on social statuses. Nadaaniyan indeed speaks about all the bigger issues like patriarchy, class conflicts, and family pressure, but with a casual tone, one cannot expect their impact.
