Djokovic, Alcaraz Set for Epic Australian Open Quarter-Final Clash

In a quarterfinal match-up at the Australian Open, 10-time defending champion Novak Djokovic is scheduled to play the up-and-comer Carlos Alcaraz on Tuesday in Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena. The match, scheduled to begin after 2:30 PM I ST, will be the eighth time both have met in their professional tennis careers and the World Number One has won four of the previous encounters with the Spaniard he has yet to lose to in a hard court match.
It had a lot at stake for both players with Djokovic looking to bounce back strongly from a relatively poor year in 2024 which he had a year in which he didn’t win any Grand Slam titles. Murray acting as a coach to the 24–time Grand Slam champion is said to have brought about a new spirit in a man who has been struggling to regain his quarter-final form without losing many sets. Of course, it can for Alcaraz who won the Wimbledon and French Open championships last year, the Australian Open match can make him the youngest player to clinch a Career Slam.
The match can be watched live on the Sony Sports channel and can be streamed on SonyLiv in India. Djokovic has said as much about the battles against Alcaraz as he has done throughout many battles in similar fervor with Rafael Nadal though the outcome and expectations for this true championship spectacle battle are still yet to come. The winner will definitely let everyone especially top seed Jannik Sinner know what to expect from him.
