Delhi’s Next CM to Be Revealed Today, Grand Oath Ceremony on February 20

BJP is scheduled to announce the new Chief Minister of Delhi on February 19, as they have re-entered power after 27 years. The new CM and cabinet will take their oath of office at Ram Lila Maidan on February 20, starting 11AM and swearing-in at 12:35PM.
A few days ago, BJP Delhi unit chief Virendra Sachdeva visited Ramlila Maidan to supervise preparations. The name of the new CM will be officially declared after the party’s Legislative meeting, with all final decisions being taken by the party’s central leadership. The BJP has already confirmed that the next CM will be selected from among the 48 elected MLAs, not from the MPs. Speculations are also rife that the party might pick a woman for the role of CM.
A few names are doing the rounds for the chief post, some of them being Parvesh Verma, who made headlines for defeating AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, and Ashish Sood, Vijender Gupta, Satish Upadhyay, Shikha Roy, and Rekha Gupta.
The swearing-in ceremony is expected to be a grand event with over 30,000 expected guests, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president JP Nadda, Chief Ministers of BJP-led states, NDA leaders, and spiritual leaders. Before the ceremony, cultural programs will be presented, filled with songs and dances.
With one day left for the new leadership to assume office, now all eyes are on the BJP’s big declaration, with Delhi awaiting its next Chief Minister.
