‘Cried while talking to my dad, he seemed to be enjoying it,’ says Britney Spears as she apologized for pretending to be ‘Okay’
American pop star Britney Spears has finally spoken about the tortuous life she has been living thanks to her father and fellow conservatorship. After nearly 13 years of silence and pressure of public life, Spears passionately told a judge on Wednesday that she wants to end all of it now as she is starting to feel enslaved.
“This conservatorship is doing me way more harm than good,” said the popular singer adding that after all this she also deserves to have a life. This is the first time that the Toxic singer spoke in the case and openly condemned her father for controlling her life who are part of conservatorship.
She also revealed that people who have been examining her as part of conservatorship have been forcing her to take birth control pills against her will and also pressuring her to rub off her wedding dreams with her present boyfriend. She prepared a speech and spoke continuously for 20 minutes without pausing even for a little bit as she revealed the deepest details that were guarded by the court for years.

She also appealed to the Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny that she wants to end this conservatorship without being compelled to be evaluated. However, the judge made no rulings in the case but called the pop star courageous for speaking up. It was hinted that there is a significantly long legal process before any decision is taken by the court.
After the court proceeding, Spears took to Instagram to apologize for pretending to be okay all this time. She talked about her mother and said that because of herself and her siblings, she continued to pretend that everything was alright. The 39-year-old singer also added that she is talking about this now as she wants people to know that unlike people assume, her life is not a fairytale.
“I did it because of my pride and I was embarrassed to share what happened to me … but honestly who doesn’t want to capture their Instagram in a fun light !!!!,” she added while also saying that she felt that she needed to apologize to her fans for pretending to be okay for the last two years.
Even though the court has not revealed what it is siding with, it was noted that Britany Spears was extremely confident in front of the judge and was frustrated for not getting any freedom all throughout her life.
In front of the judge, she said that she now wanted to handle her own finances as it was her own money. Spears also said that she truly believes that conservatorship is abusive and she desperately wants her life back.
When one of the attorneys of her co-conservators was defending their action and asked the court to keep the heating and transcript sealed, Spears blatantly called her out and said that she wants her words to be public and be heard. Spears said conservatorship has been exploiting her life and hence she feels that the court must have an open hearing and should listen to whatever she has to say.
While talking about her father, the singer said that her father has been relishing his power over her for years and it especially increased since he failed a series of psychological tests. He even forced her to go to a mental hospital, Spears added. “I cried on the phone for an hour, and he loved every minute of it,” Spears said.
Britany’s fans are extremely happy that the singer has finally spoken about it after years of pressure. Her fans started #FreeBritany campaigned years ago as, despite the denial, they felt that the star has been struggling and is being tortured by her father.
She had once on record denied any trouble with her father but the campaign grew larger every passing day and finally, when Britney spoke up, her fans were satisfied that she is feeling strong enough to share her life publicly.
