Chhorii 2 Trailer: Nushrrat Bharuccha, Soha Ali Khan Back with Spine-Chilling Fantasies

After four years since the general room delivery of Chhorii, the director Vishal Furia has brought in the most awaited sequel, Chhorii 2. Nushrrat Bharuccha’s lead role gets debuted with the sequel of the film, but it will be released on Prime Video India on 11 April. This time, the horror franchise welcomes a new face, Soha Ali Khan, and joins the eerie world of Chhorii.
Darker and Scarier Sequel
The story moves on seven years after the first movie. Sakshi’s daughter, Ishani, happens to have this rare condition in which she becomes too sensitive to sunlight; exposure may be dangerous for her.
The trailer starts with an eerie folk tale: A king becomes furious when his wife gives birth to a daughter instead of a son. In rage, he orders the loyal servant (daasi) to get rid of it. This mysterious daasi, played by Soha Ali Khan, appears shrouded in a black cloak, her eerie eyes enhanced by CGI effects.
Now it is the present time, and Sakshi is with her daughter in a nightmare. The daasi is back, and this time she is after little Ishani, hunting her in a secluded village. Despite Sakshi’s desperate pleas for help, the villagers refuse to intervene, justifying their silence by citing age-old traditions. The most chilling twist in the trailer shows that the daasi may also bring back her master, the vengeful king, thus worsening matters for Sakshi and her daughter.
The Team Chhorii II
Directed by Vishal Furia, with the script penned by Furia together with Ajit Jagtap, the film is produced by T-Series (Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar) and Abundantia Entertainment (headed by Vikram Malhotra). The first film was an adapted version of Furia’s 2016 Marathi horror-thriller Lapachhapi starring Pooja Sawant and Vikram Gaikwad.
While Chhorii was noted to be allegorical in its horrors-it carried much-needed examinations of society, critics complained that it was more about exposition than implication. The Indian Express review noted that, instead of visual storytelling, the first picture relied heavily on dialogue to explain its lore.
With Chhorii 2, promises are made by Furia to take horror further by incorporating folklore with psychological terror and vice versa. The fans will soon know whether this sequel is delivering the scares it promises when released on April 11.rt
