Bramayugam Collects ₹3 Crore On 1st Day, Marivillin Gopurangal Postponed
Mammootty’s latest movie, ‘Bramayugam’, has had a good start at the box office. It earned Rs 3 crore on its opening day, which is more than his previous two films.
The movie is a horror-thriller set in the 17th century and is a mix of folklore and horror. The movie stars Arjun Ashokan, Sidharth Bharathan, and Amalda Liz in important roles. It was shot on a grand scale in Kochi and Ottapalam.
‘Bramayugam‘ was released in only one language, Malayalam, and received positive reviews from both critics and viewers. It had 128 shows in Kochi and 158 shows in Bengaluru. The occupancy rates were 69% in Kochi and 27.25% in Bengaluru.
Mammootty, during the trailer launch, requested his fans not to jump to conclusions about the story based on the trailer. He wanted to avoid disappointment if the actual narrative turned out to be different from their assumptions.

3 films were about to clash with each other – Mammootty starrer ‘Bramayugam’, Mamitha Baiju and Naslen starrer ‘Premalu’, and Indrajith Sukumaran starrer ‘Marivillin Gopurangal.’
The release of the movie “Marivillin Gopurangal” has been postponed because two other movies, “Bramayugam” and “Premalu,” are doing well in theaters. “Bramayugam” stars Mammootty and has received good reviews for its unique story.
“Premalu” stars Mamitha Baiju and Naslen and is also performing well. Because these two movies are attracting a lot of fans to the theaters, the release of “Marivillin Gopurangal” has been delayed.
The success of “Bramayugam” and “Premalu” has brought relief to theaters in Kerala, which were struggling financially due to the failure of many movies. Another movie called “Thundu,” starring Biju Menon and Shine Tom Chacko, is also set to release soon, adding to the competition.

The movie will now face tough competition from the highly anticipated survival thriller “Manjummel Boys,” starring Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, and Balu Varghese.
“Marivillin Gopurangal” is the fourth feature film by director Arun Bose and stars Vincy Aloshious, Shruti Ramachandran, Sarjano Khalid, Sai Kumar, and Johny Antony, among others.
