BJP’s Historic Win In UP Gives “Glimpse” Of Next General Elections, Says PM Modi
UP -Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s historic win in Uttar Pradesh (UP) gives a “glimpse” of the next general elections of 2024.
PM Modi predicted a third straight term in power for the BJP at the Centre. While addressing the BJP workers at the party headquarters in New Delhi, PM Modi said, “Many people had said that the fate of the 2019 general election was decided when the 2017 UP election result was declared. Now, the 2024 general election result can be glimpsed in the result of the 2022 UP election.”
BJP’s win in UP
Yogi Adityanath will become the Chief Minister of UP again. This is the first time since 1985 that a ruling party has returned to power in UP. In the 403-member UP assembly, the BJP has won 255 seats, 53 more seats than the halfway mark of 202.
Reportedly, the BJP is also the first party in nearly 40 years to get a second straight term at the Centre. PM Modi also said that BJP’s win in UP has proved that there is no truth to the allegations of caste-based politics in the state.
