BJP Expels Senior Member From The Party
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has expelled a member for making statements against the union government. Mr. Anil Joshi has been expelled on the directions of state unit chief Ashwani Sharma.
Joshi is said to have made statements about the union government, its policies, and the party’s central leadership too. Joshi was been expelled for a period of six years, a day after he replied to a show-cause notice issued to him over his “anti-party” activities.
He is also said to have been asked as to why he had mishandled the ongoing farmer’s protests against the Centre’s agriculture law. The party also felt that Joshi was not willing to give up his stubborn ways and therefore decided to expel him from the party.
Speaking openly, Joshi had said that “Is it wrong to talk about people of Punjab? BJP workers are being thrashed, disrobed. Is it wrong to ask for a solution to farmers’ protests? Punjab BJP president Ashwani Sharma and his team did not give correct feedback to the Centre. These are the people who are expelling. The one who was talking about saving the party has been thrown out.” Joshi was Minister for Local Bodies, Medical Education and Research in the SAD-BJP government from 2012 to 2017
Another senior member of the party, Mohan Lal has also been red-flagged but later let off. He is known to have made derogatory statements about the party and its members of having been unfair to him in his leadership growth. Meanwhile, there is already news that Joshi is talking to Akalis to join SAD while another senior member from Jalandhar is also planning to move to SAD.
