Arvind Kejriwal Tests Positive For Covid; Bjp Slams The Delhi Government For Holding Rallies
Delhi -Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday tested positive for Covid-19. The chief minister also urged people who came in contact with him to quarantine and get tested as soon as possible. Kejriwal is currently under home quarantine.
Kejriwal shared the news on his Twitter account. Kejriwal wrote on Twitter, “I have tested positive for Covid. Mild symptoms. Have isolated myself at home. Those who came in touch with me in the last few days, kindly isolate yourself and get yourself tested.”
In recent days, the chief minister addressed massive rallies to campaign for the upcoming election in Uttar Pradesh (UP), Punjab and Uttarakhand in the past three days. He has been campaigning for his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) amid surging Covid-19 and Omicron cases in the country. He was in Dehradun yesterday. Reportedly, he had held rallies in Amritsar and Patiala before visiting Dehradun.
Opposition slams the Chief Minister
Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain reportedly said that the Chief Minister getting Covid is not a big issue. However, people should be alert and wear masks. He said that everyone will be protected from infection if they wear masks. According to experts, the Omicron variant is driving most of the cases in Delhi. The state has reported 4,099 new cases in 24 hours on Monday.
