Army Jawan shot dead in Kashmir, reports reveal that he was on leave
An Army personnel has been shot dead in South Kashmir but the official records reveal that the Jawan is on leave. The act took place in Bijbehara of Kashmir and the officials confirmed that there were two terrorists behind the attack.
The name of the Jawan who was killed in the attack was Mohammad Saleem Akhoon. He was a territorial army soldier from Jablipora in Bijbehara. The army spokesperson said that Akhoon was shot at his residence when he was back home on leave.
“The soldier was attacked by two terrorists suspected to be from Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), at his house,” the army spokesperson added. Even though the soldier was quickly taken to the sub-district hospital in Bijbehara and was taken to a government medical college in Srinagar where he was declared dead.
The medical reports revealed that he had suffered severe head injuries in the attack. The army personnels soon carried out searches in the area but their findings are yet to be disclosed. The soldier is survived by a nine-year old daughter and a six-year-old son.
