Anurag Thakur To Review India’s Preparations For Asian Games
The Union Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur is going to review the country’s preparation for upcoming Asian Games at the 100th Mission Olympic Cell (MOC) meeting.
Union Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur will be conducting a review of India’s preparedness for the upcoming Asian Games during the 100th Mission Olympic Cell (MOC) meeting.
The MOC meeting is scheduled to take place over two days, June 8 and 9, at Delhi’s Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range.
The purpose of the meeting is to assess India’s readiness for the Asian Games, which are set to be held in Hangzhou, China, from September 23 to October 8, 2022.
The review meeting will be attended by several prominent figures in Indian sports, including –
- Kalyan Chaube (Joint Secretary, Indian Olympic Association),
- Adille Sumariwalla (President, Athletics Federation of India),
And various distinguished athletes who are part of the MOC, such as Gagan Narang, Anju Bobby George, Viren Rasquinha, Trupti Murgunde, Monalisa Mehta, and Bhaichung Bhutia.
Representatives from the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (MYAS), Sports Authority of India (SAI), and the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) will also be present at the meeting.
The purpose of the review is to evaluate India’s level of preparedness for the Asian Games, which are a major sporting event in the region.
The Sports Minister will likely discuss various aspects, including infrastructure, training facilities, coaching, and support systems for athletes.
The goal is to ensure that Indian athletes have the necessary resources and support to perform at their best during the Asian Games.
By conducting this review, Anurag Thakur aims to assess the current state of India’s preparations and identify any gaps or areas that require improvement.
