After railway job, Sushil Kumar may also lose out on a contract with the Wrestling Federation of India
Following the accusation of murder, celebrated wrestler lost his job with the Indian Railways and now as per reports, the Olympian might also loose out on the contract with the Wrestling Federation of India.
As per recent developments in the incidents surrounding two time Olympic medalist, it has been revealed that Sushil Kumar will have to lose his annual contract with the WFI by next month for non performance.
There will be a review meeting next month and the decision will most likely be announced after the meeting. A day earlier, Sushil Kumar was also suspended as senior commercial manager by the Indian Railways after he was arrested by the Delhi Police’s Special Cell on Sunday.
The wrtesler was arrested for his involvemnet in the murder of another wrestler Sagr Ratna on May 4, who was also libing in Kumar’s house as a tenant. The murder has repoertedly taken place in Chhatrasal Stadium and since then, Kumar alsong with his friends had been on the loose.
He was caught when a prize money was promised on his and his associate Ajay Kumar’s information. The 37-year-old was taken into police remand in Delhi for six days and following this, he was continuously questioned for four hours.

Him losing out on the contract by the wrestling federation will not be due to the arrest rather due to non performance. His contract was worth Rs 30 lakh but the senior officials feel that he has not been showing much progress, which is why it was decided that his contract may be cancelled.
One of the sources talked to PTI and said, “It is clear that Sushil and Pooja (Dhanda) have not done anything notable since they were offered contracts (in 2019). They will not make the cut when the review meeting is held next month.”
His downfall was visible since he returned empty handed from the 2-18 Asian Games in Jakarta and the following year, lost out on the world championship too. Many faults were identified after his world championship stint and hence he refrained from returning to mat after the loss.
