Wipro Makes Significant Move Towards Zero Carbon Emission Solutions With British National Grid
Bengaluru –Wipro Limited has signed up with UK’s National Grid to accelerate the latter’s digital innovation journey, confirmed reports have come in. This is a multi-year, global strategic IT and digital deal that will pave the way for a hybrid cloud solution apart from providing integration to National Grid’s managed services and help consolidate its data centers across the United Kingdom and the United States.
According to spokesperson Daniel Jablonski, Head of Cloud and Hosting Services, National Grid, “Our data center consolidation efforts will allow us to realize an over 60 percent reduction in our data center footprint as well as realize a 40 percent reduction in our data center CO2 emissions. Additionally, this transformational program, in conjunction with Wipro, will position our IT capabilities to enable modernized SDDC techniques, technologies, and operating models to accelerate our own digital transformation as National Grid continues to build the future of energy.”
