On Monday, Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, permits the opening of eateries, MSME enterprises, optical sales and repair shops and bus services. The Home Ministry, in a separate letter to Kerala, has firmly objected to its decision and expressed that it’s a dilution of Central Government’s lockdown rules.
On Sunday, Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla composed the letter after different states made their rundown of necessary activities and announced the unwinding of COVID-19 lockdown limitations from Monday, the TOI reported.
“It has come to our notice that a few of the states/UTs are making their list of activities and authorizing exercises which have not been permitted by the Home Ministry amid lockdown, Bhalla stated.
Kerala has recently been able to flatten the curve of coronavirus cases by carefully executing measures that the WHO had suggested, like:- testing, contact tracing, guaranteeing, and surveillance. Kerala made a point to isolate anyone who came in contact with a Covid-19 carrier and break the chain by the earliest.
On Monday, Kerala has also opened private vehicles on an odd-even number basis and dining services at hotels. As per the Center, states that are not abiding by the rules are breaking the April 15 order under the Disaster Management Act 2005.
