What PM Modi’s Visit to Thailand and Sri Lanka Means for India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started his three-day visit from Thailand and Sri Lanka from April 4 to 6. This visit is aiming to deepen the diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties in the Bay of Bengal region. During this visit, our PM is going to attend the 6th BIMSTEC Summit and there are several other high-level bilateral meetings.

What is BIMSTEC?
The Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) is a group of seven countries — Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Thailand — working together for regional development.
