West Bengal Public Holidays 2025: A Year of Celebrations and Observances
The eastern state of India which is widely known for its historical monuments which narrates the India which existed before freedom, the largest mangrove forest in the world, and other strong cultural elements is the “West Bengal”. The government of West Bengal announces their public holidays along with their local holidays which is observed based on their history of the state.
This year, 2025 three local holidays have been added to 14 other fixed holidays.

“Central Govt.Organizations, which include Industrial, Commercial & Training Establishment (ie.other than doing work of Secretariat nature) would observe 16 holidays in a year out of which 3 namely, Republic Day, Independence and Mahatma Gandhi’s Birthday will be compulsory. The remaining Holidays/Occasions may be determined by such Establishment/Organizations themselves on a year to year basis” – The notification of WB government stated.
