This comes amid infighting in TMC ahead of civic polls in Nadia district. The message was focused at TMC MP Ms. Mahua Moitra who seems to have been keen to get the ticket. Mahua Moitra, who was recently removed as the party’s president of Nadia district The message went off clear from didi in an administrative meeting where she said, “Mahua, let me give a clear message here. I don’t need to see who is against whom. If someone does not like a person, he or she sends some people for news on YouTube or in newspapers. This kind of politics can go for one day but not forever.”
Ms. Banerjee further said, “It is not right to accept that the same person will be in the same place forever. When there is an election, the party will decide who will contest. There is no room for disagreement here. We should all work together.” To this, Mahua Moitra replied that she and the party will work towards a “united political front.”
Ms. Moitra is said to be a vocal lawmaker who has been slamming the Adani group through her forceful tweets. PI-M leader Md Salim has recently taken a dig at her for the fact that while she spoke against the industrialist, her own party supremo has plans of entering into an alliance with him.
The Chief Minister has invited Adani to attend the next edition of the Bengal Global Business Summit in Kolkata in April next year. TMC chief Ms Banerjee and industrialist Gautam Adani met in Kolkata on December 2 and also discussed investment prospects. These could be reasons enough for being sidelined for the moment.
