The way this competition works is quite interesting. Each sailor participates in several races and gets points based on their performance. In the end, the sailor with the least points wins.
Vishnu scored a total of 174 points throughout the championship. However, in sailing competitions, the worst score of a sailor is often removed from their total points.
For Vishnu, this meant subtracting his lowest score of 49, leaving him with a final score of 125.
Vishnu’s journey in sailing has been impressive. Before this achievement, he had already made a mark by winning a bronze medal at the Under-21 World Championships in 2019.
His continuous progress and dedication to sailing have not only brought him personal success but also put Indian sailing in the spotlight on the international stage.
His qualification for the Paris Olympics is a proud moment for Indian sports. You can analyze the growing strength and capability of Indian athletes in global competitions.
Vishnu’s journey from being a national champion to now representing India at the Olympics is an inspiration for many aspiring athletes in the country. His story is a testament to hard work, passion, and the pursuit of excellence.
