Veteran Actor Krishna, Mahesh Babu’s Father, Dies At 80
Veteran actor Krishna, also known as “Superstar” in the Telugu cinema industry, passed away in Hyderabad on Tuesday, one day after being admitted to the hospital. Additionally, Mahesh Babu, a well-known actor, was born to Krishna.
According to news source ANI, Krishna, his official title is Ghattamnaneni Siva Rama Krishna Murthy, was receiving medication at Continental Hospital in Hyderabad.
A hospital statement was previously released on Twitter by PR and marketing executive Vamsi Shekhar.
Krishna was a renowned actor, director, and producer best known for his Telugu-language film career. He appeared in more than 350 movies throughout the course of a five-decade film career.
Krishna made his acting debut in the 1965 movie Thene Manasulu and went on to star in a number of additional movies, including Sakshi, Pandanti Kapuram, Gudachari 116, James Bond 777, and Agent Gopi.
In the Telugu film industry, he is credited with introducing many technological firsts, including the first Cinemascope film, Alluri Seetharama Raju (1974), the first Eastman Color film, Eenadu (1982), the first 70mm film, Simhasanam (1986), the first DTS film, Telugu Veera Levara (1995), and the cowboy genre.
“He arrived in a critical condition at the hospital at midnight. We performed CPR for a cardiac arrest, sent him to the intensive care unit, and he is currently stable.
A group of cardiologists and doctors constantly monitor his health. We are unable to predict the outcome at this time.

Indira Devi, Mahesh Babu’s mother, passed away in September of this year, and Ramesh Babu, his older brother, passed away in January.
