Heartbreaking Tragedy: Tempo Traveler Crash in Uttarakhand Rishikesh-Badrinath Highway
A tragic incident happened today in Rishikesh-Badrinath highway near Raitoli in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag district. In accident it is reported that a tempo traveler carrying 23 passengers fell into a gorge. After this horrific accodent at least 10 people lost their lives.
This accident occurred when the minibus plunged into the Alaknanda River.
The rescue operation is currently underway, with State Disaster Response Force and police teams working tirelessly at the site.
Eyewitnesses said that some people standing on the roadside were also injured in the accident.
Immediate response from the govenment also record by the citizens, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his deep sorrow over the incident, calling it “very sad news.”
He has ordered the district magistrate to investigate the accident thoroughly.
Dhami said on his X platform, “I pray to God to grant the souls of the departed a place in his feet and provide strength to the bereaved family to bear this immense pain. I pray to Baba Kedar for the speedy recovery of the injured.”

During the search operation the injured people are airlifted and reffered to the AIIMS Rishikesh for immediate medical treatment.

Uttarakhand Rishikesh Badrinath highway is one of the busiest routes for people, as it is tourism attraction and connected with hindus holy places. The tourism sector in Ukkrakhand is grown and developed , so witnessing these kind of carelessness activities in the highway route where the auto is overloaded is directly a question mark for system.
