Planning a Trip to America? US Visa Freeze on 75 Nations Sends Shockwaves

The United States has declared that the processing of immigrant visas will be suspended on an indefinite basis; its citizens are involved in 75 countries, which is the most extensive immigration restriction in recent years. This freeze, which will begin on January 21, only covers people who are hoping to have the right to permanently live and work in the US and not tourists and other temporary employees.
It is in countries of Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe, and they include Pakistan, Bangladesh, Somalia, Iran, Afghanistan, Russia, Brazil, Nigeria, and Thailand. The action is part of the wider effort of the Donald Trump administration to restrict immigration routes.
According to US officials, the pause will enable authorities to reuse the screening processes, citing concern as to the possibility of dependence on the welfare of the populace. But the ruling has been disputed, with various studies revealing that immigrants receive fewer government benefits compared to native-born Americans. Having no expiration date declared yet, the freeze has subjected thousands of applicants all around the world to a long period of uncertainty.
