UAE Makes Work Permits and Visas Easier with ‘Work Bundle’
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) government has introduced a new system called the ‘Work Bundle’ to make it simpler and faster for private companies to get work permits and visas for their employees. This new system will help businesses save time and money.
One-Stop-Shop for Employment Services
The ‘Work Bundle’ brings together all the services related to hiring and renewing employees under one roof. Companies can now use a single platform to apply for work permits, renew visas, schedule medical checkups, and even get fingerprints taken – all in one place.
Collaboration for Better Service
To create the ‘Work Bundle,’ various government departments joined hands, including the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, and the Dubai Health Authority. This teamwork ensures a smooth experience for businesses.
Digitally Transforming Employment Processes
The ‘Work Bundle’ is part of the UAE’s efforts to digitize and modernize its services. By providing a single online platform, the initiative aims to make it easier for companies to set up and manage their operations in the UAE, improving the country’s global competitiveness.
Saving Time and Reducing Paperwork
With the ‘Work Bundle,’ businesses can expect significant time and effort savings. The number of required procedures has been reduced from eight to just one unified platform. The number of necessary documents has also been cut down from 16 to just five. Additionally, the number of visits required has been reduced from seven to only two.
Widespread Availability
Initially, the ‘Work Bundle’ will be available on the ‘Invest in Dubai’ platform. However, plans are underway to make it accessible through other government digital platforms, ensuring widespread availability across the UAE.
Streamlined Hiring and Renewal Processes
The ‘Work Bundle’ simplifies the process of hiring employees from outside the UAE. Companies can now complete a unified application, obtain work permits, and guide employees through medical examinations and Emirates ID card issuance. For visa renewals, company owners only need to fill out the unified application, while employees complete their medical checkups and Emirates ID card renewal.

Boon for Indian Expats and Prospective Employees
The ‘Work Bundle’ initiative is particularly beneficial for the large number of Indian expats currently working in the UAE and those aspiring to work in the country. With streamlined processes and reduced bureaucracy, Indian professionals can now navigate employment and visa procedures with greater ease and convenience. This move by the UAE government not only strengthens the country’s position as a preferred destination for skilled workers but also fosters a more welcoming environment for the Indian diaspora.
By introducing the ‘Work Bundle,’ the UAE has taken a significant step towards creating a business-friendly environment that values efficiency and convenience. This initiative demonstrates the government’s commitment to reducing bureaucracy and making life easier for both businesses and individuals in the UAE.
