1.UPSC Civil Service Entrance Examinations (IAS)
UPSC IAS exam is one of the most difficult exams in India. The exam is conducted in three levels: The Preliminary Exam, The Main Exam, and Personality Test or Interview. It is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.

UPSC aspirants cover a large syllabus, including Indian History, Indian Geography, and Laws on Human Rights. Over 8 lakh candidates appear for the IAS exams every year. However, the pass percentage among candidates in the IAS exam is only about 0.2 per cent.
2. Chartered Accountant Exam
The CA Foundation Exam is a preliminary exam conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. CA exams are carried out on three levels: CA Foundation, CA Intermediate, and CA Final. It is tough to clear all levels of CA exams. Only a few students pass all levels of CA exams.
3. IIT JEE Entrance Examination
IIT JEE is an entrance examination that offers admission to IITs, NITs and other prestigious engineering colleges across India. Students are shortlisted on two core levels of IIT-JEE: JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Students must clear JEE Main to write JEE Advanced. Good engineering colleges only accept students with good rankings in JEE entrance examination.
4. GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering)
GATE is considered one of the toughest exams in India. It is conducted to admit students into Master’s and Doctoral courses in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, and Science. It also offers admission to IITs and NITs.
5. CAT (Common Entrance Test)
CAT is conducted to admit students into top MBA colleges. Candidates are evaluated based on skills in English, Mathematics, and Logical Reasoning. IIMs accept students with higher CAT marks. Not many students can obtain higher marks in CAT.
6. NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test)
The NEET exam is conducted to admit students to MBBS and BDS courses in government or private medical colleges across India. Lakhs of students give this exam every year. However, only limited seats are offered in desired colleges.

7. NDA (National Defense Academy)
The NDA exam is conducted to admit candidates into the Army, Air Force, or Navy. The candidates are selected based on a written examination, psychological aptitude test, intelligence test, personality test, and an interview. Almost every year, only 6000 candidates are selected for the final interviews out of 4 lakh candidates.
8. UGC-NET (University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test)
UGC-NET is a national-level hiring exam conducted to select Assistant Professors and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) candidates in universities and colleges across the country. Usually, candidates pass this exam in their 4th or 5th attempts.
9. CLAT (Common Law Admission Test)
The CLAT exam is conducted to admit students to five-year law programs, such as Bachelor of Arts (Integrated with Law), Bachelor of Law, or Master of Law (LLM). Sixty thousand students appear for CLAT annually. Only 5% of candidates make it to National Law University.
10. National Institute of Design (NID) Entrance Examination
The National Institute of Design Entrance Examination is conducted to admit students to B.Des in Industrial Design, Communication Design, Textile, or Apparel & Lifestyle Accessory Design departments of the National Institute of Design. Students need to give two exams: NID DAT Prelims and NID DAT Mains. These exams check the students’ creativity levels in the design.
