The script for Stree 2, which is the sequel of Amar Kaushik’s horror-comedy film Stree, has been completed. It will go under production very soon.
Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s Stree, directed by Amar Kaushik, premiered to critical and commercial recognition in 2018.
Since then, Kaushik has been creating a horror-comedy universe with the help of the production company Maddock Films.
Bhediya, starring Varun Dhawan, is a component of this expansive universe.
According to recent sources, Kaushik has now finalized the script for Stree 2, and Rao and Kapoor will return in the follow-up.
Recently, Indian filmmakers have started focusing on cinematic universes and breakouts, which feature interconnected narratives and performers that appear in many movies in cameo roles.
For instance, in Bhediya’s newly released song Thumkeshwari, Kapoor made a guest appearance. Curiously, Varun Dhawan might possibly be a part of Stree 2.
If all goes according to plan, an overflowing horror universe starring a number of well-known performers will emerge.
Pinkvilla recently published a study that revealed details regarding the development of Step 2.
Amar and his crew have been developing the script for Stree 2 for some time, and they have finally finalized a subject that carries on the heritage of the first chapter, a source told the publication.
The creators are well mindful of the “audience’s expectations,” they continued.
After Bhediya is released, pre-production on Stree 2 will start, and it will begin filming in early 2023.
“The story of Bhediya eventually leads to Stree 2,” the insider continued, “and that would launch Maddock’s own horror-comedy universe.”
Ayushmann Khurrana and Samantha Ruth Prabhu are supposedly co-starring in a “vampire flick” being produced by Maddock Films that is set in the same world.
Kaushik made his directing debut with Stree, which earned him the 2019 Filmfare Award for Best Debut Director.
In supporting parts, it included Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee.
The urban legend of Nale Ba, which spread like wildfire in Karnataka in the 1990s, is said to be the inspiration for Stree.
The horrorverse also includes a prequel to Stree and Janhvi Kapoor’s Roohi.
