The Kashmir Files director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri makes it obvious right away that his movie won’t be subtle.
It is based on the real-life events about the suffering of Kashmiri Pandits who were subjected to a massacre and a forced migration from their own country at the hands of Islamic extremists.
The Kashmir Files’ characters are nothing less than “actual people.” You sense their suffering by the way they display their emotions on TV, causing a lump in your throat.
Pushkar Nath is by far Anupam Kher’s best and most compelling performance. Agnihotri couldn’t have chosen a better actor for the part than Anupam Kher because he is a Kashmiri Pandit himself.
