The Conjuring: Last Rites Cast, Release Date, Where to Watch

It is now high season, and Hollywood has set in store a chilling welcome to spooky season. The Conjuring: Last Rites, aka The Conjuring 4, is released this Friday, September 5, 2025. The latest sequel, directed by Michael Chaves and written by Ian Goldberg, is not just the ninth film in the billion-dollar Conjuring universe, but it is also being billed as the last in the franchise. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga reappear as the notorious Ed and Lorraine Warren, and the film leads to a final ghost battle, which will bring it all to an end.

Cast, Crew, and Storyline

The Conjuring: Last Rites is a literal sequel to 2021’s The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, directed once again by Michael Chaves. Again, Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga come back as Ed and Lorraine Warren, the controversial real-life paranormal investigators on whose cases the franchise was based. It is the scariest and last supernatural case that the Warrens will deal with.

Mia Tomlinson portrays the role of Judy Warren, the daughter of the couple, and Ben Hardy portrays Tony Spera, Judy’s father. Other members of the cast are Steve Coulter playing Father Gordon, Rebecca Calder, Elliot Cowan, Kila Lord Cassidy, Beau Gadsdon, John Brotherton, and Shannon Kook.

Chaves has a veteran creative team working behind the camera, including director of photography Eli Born, production designer John Frankish, editors Elliot Greenberg and Gregory Plotkin, and composer Benjamin Wallfisch, with a haunting score. It was written by Ian Goldberg, Richard Naing, and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, and co-plotted by franchise developer James Wan and Johnson-McGoldrick.

Directed by James Wan and Peter Safran, the movie is a continuation of the New Line Cinema Conjuring universe, which has earned more than 2 billion dollars worldwide. Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Natalia Safran, John Rickard, Hans Ritter, and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick are executive producers.

Release and Where to Watch

On Friday, September 5, 2025, all horror fans will be able to enter the world of the Conjuring again, enjoying The Conjuring: Last Rites. The film will be shown both in regular theaters and IMAX in several markets, including India.

The movie cannot be streamed at the moment. As it is a Warner Bros. production, the film will not be on Netflix but will ultimately stream on HBO Max, the official streaming platform of Warner Bros.
