Temple Trust Denies Viral Video Showing Mice on Prasad Packets at Siddhivinayak
A video showing mice on ‘prasad’ packets, supposedly from Mumbai’s famous Siddhivinayak temple, has gone viral. However, the temple trust said the video was shot outside the temple.
Sada Sarvankar, chairperson of the Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Mandir Trust told PTI that lakhs of ‘laddus’ are made daily in a clean environment, and the place in the video looks dirty. He is confident it wasn’t shot inside the temple.
Sarvankar, who is part of the Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena party, assured that CCTVs would be checked, and the police will investigate. He promised action against anyone found responsible.
To reassure devotees, Sarvankar added that the ingredients used in the laddus, like ghee and cashews, are tested by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) before being used, and even the water is tested for purity.
The video shows mice near torn packets of laddus in a blue tray, but the authenticity of the clip has not been verified. A X post is updated in news puran –
