Swing In Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar Crashed From 50-Ft Height
A 50-feet swing (carnival ride) in a Mohali fair in Punjab crashed from mid-air with 50 people on board. As per witnesses, 15-16 people were injured in the accident.
A carnival attraction broke down late on Sunday night in Mohali, injuring several persons. Information indicates that a carnival was being held at the Dussehra Ground when the tragedy occurred about 10 p.m. as the attendees were riding the vertical tower.
At least 15 to 16 individuals were hurt in the incident, including women and children, according to observers.
“When the swing rose, we witnessed people falling off it. Women and children were sitting in it, a woman remarked, adding that many present at the carnival assisted in transporting the injured to hospitals.
According to their information, four persons were hurt, but according to DSP (City 2) HS Bal, they are still looking into the situation.
DSP Bal stated: “A carnival was being planned, and the eyewitness informed us that there had been a mechanical issue with the swings and it had fallen.”
Allegedly, all of the carnival’s organizers left the area. The event occurred during the Mohali Trade Fair, which was scheduled to run through September 11.
Amit Talwar, the deputy commissioner for Mohali, stated that an investigation will be conducted to see whether the carnival’s organizers received approval from the relevant authorities.
