Svamitva Yojana – An Initiative to transform Rural India

The Svamitva (Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas) Yojana was initially launched by PM Modi in 2020 which aimed to issue ‘rural property owners with a record of their property rights’. The Ministry of Panchayat Raj has planned to distribute 65 lakh property cards in a single day under this scheme.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has distributed the property cards virtually on January 18, 2025 at 12.30pm and nearly 2.25 crore cards have been given out which is a milestone achievement of this scheme. The event is scheduled with the nationwide address and an interaction of PM Modi with selective beneficiaries. He has also assured that the success of this scheme will be showcased to the world through a workshop which is to be held in the month of March and during the event the representatives from around 20 countries will take part in it.
