Sonu Nigam was performing at a music event in Chembur, mumbai. As he tried to leave the stage MLA’s son & his people physically assaulted Sonu.
A music event in Mumbai’s Chembur on Monday night allegedly saw singer Sonu Nigam and his colleagues being physically assaulted.
Based on Nigam’s accusation, the police on Tuesday arrested Swapnil Prakash Phaterpekar. Swapnil is the son of Uddhav Thackeray’s party’s Chembur MLA Prakash Phaterpekar.
According to a preliminary investigation, an official stated that the event happened when Swapnil attempted to take a selfie with Nigam.
A fight broke out between the politician’s supporters and Nigam’s crew as a result of the singer’s team’s failure to recognise him and pushing him away.
Soon after the occurrence, Nigam and his colleagues fled the area and reported it to the Chembur police station.
In a statement to the news agency, Nigam alleged Swapnil of attempting to “hold” him as he exited the stage. Nigam added that Phaterpekar “pushed” his companions as they attempted to save him.
“After the concert, a man named Swapnil Prakash Phaterpekar grabbed hold of me as I was descending the stage. Then, as Hari and Rabbani arrived to save me, he pushed them.
Then I stumbled down the stairs. Sonu Nigam stated, “I filed a case so that people might think twice about forcibly capturing selfies and starting fights.
The IPC sections 341 (wrongful restraint), 337 (causing harm by endangering the life or personal safety of others) and 323 have been used to charge Swapnil (voluntarily causing hurt).
A video of the event that has become viral on social media shows one individual going down the stairs leading to the stage.
Sonu is reportedly safe, however Ghulam Mustafa Khan’s son, his close friend Rabbani Khan, and his bodyguard have all suffered injuries. They are currently receiving medical care in the hospital.
As per tweets and rumors, MLA’s son and his goons attacked Sonu knowingly as Sonu had raised his voice against Azaan loudspeakers. Prakash Phaterpekar is a MLA under Uddhav Thackeray administration.
Sonu Nigam was spotted at the Mumbai airport Tuesday morning, hours after he and his team were mishandled.
