The upcoming film Kanguva (aka Suriya 42) is based on a 1,500 years old, real story. The ₹300 crores budget film will be released in 3D with 10 different languages.
Star performer Suriya and the director Siruthai Siva are presently collaborating on an action-packed, period-based theatrical masterpiece named Kanguva. The title and a sneak peek, which were disclosed a few days ago, were greeted with immense attention from the viewers.
As per the latest grapevine, the team has now initiated a fresh filming schedule in Kerala. It is rumored that half of the movie has already been captured. This schedule will encompass some significant scenes featuring Suriya, Disha Patani, and others.
Produced by Studio Green in collaboration with UV Creations, this colossal project is all set to release in ten different languages in 3D. Devi Sri Prasad has composed the music for the film, and it is scheduled to be released in early 2024.
The 42nd film of the artist, Suriya, has recently been named Kanguva, which sounds peculiar. The director, Siva, has now opened up about the title and the plot of his upcoming movie.
Although Kanguva was originally thought to be a fantasy film, Siva has denied it in an interview with Cinema Express.
He said, “The story has a mythological setting, which might deceive some viewers into believing it’s a fantasy movie. However, Kanguva is not a fantasy film, and Suriya’s character doesn’t have any superpowers.”
Director Siva has also disclosed that Kanguva is set 1500 years ago and is based on the ancient Tamil culture of worshiping fire, taking inspiration from a 3rd-century Tamil script.
In the media, the director stated, “Kanguvan is a name in the Tamil language, and the script used above the title in the film’s poster is ancient Tamil called Vattezhuthu, which was prevalent after the 3rd century.
Kangu means fire. So, Kanguva refers to a man with the power of fire. The film is set 1500 years ago and uses elements from ancient Tamil culture as well as other cultures from all over India. Kenguva is a historical story set in an imaginary world with strong historical references and facts.”
Produced by Studio Green, Kanguva is all set to release in ten languages and in 3D. Disha Patani plays the lead role in the film, with Suriya featuring in multiple roles.
