Shaktikanta Das Appointed as Principal Secretary to PM Modi

The Government of India has appointed Shaktikanta Das, former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor, and Principal Secretary-2 to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. His tenure will last until the Prime Minister steps down or until orders are issued otherwise, states an official notification.
Who is Shaktikanta Das?
Born: Feb. 26, 1957, in Bhubaneswar
Education: A Bachelor’s and Master’s in History from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi
He was a former Civil Servant in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) of the 1980 batch from the Tamil Nadu cadre.
Das has over 40 years of experience in governance in key sectors like finance, taxation, industries, and infrastructure.
