‘Server is not online yet’: BGMI players face login error amid news of game’s return
Although Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) has remained suspended in India for the past ten months, the in-game servers were still online, allowing scores of players across the country to flock to the title on a regular basis.
But to every player’s utter surprise, the game’s servers were taken down earlier today. Users who tried to log in were hit with a prompt that asked them to look out for the official news for further information on availability.
Many expressed frustration online over BGMI’s developer Krafton for taking the in-game servers offline. Hundreds of players took to Twitter to express their fury and disappointment, while others feared the game was permanently banned in the Indian market.
Meanwhile, Krafton grabbed the opportunity to drop a couple of posts on the game’s much-awaited return. In the first post from their side in more than 42 weeks, Krafton India hinted at the title’s return, urging fans to switch on their notifications.
It seems the game could arrive on digital storefronts (Apple App Store and Google Play Store) anytime soon. In the second post on their Instagram handle, the company asked gamers to “Stay Tuned” for further announcements.
This post highlighted the words of Sean Hyunil Sohn, Krafton India’s CEO, who expressed his gratitude to authorities in India for allowing the company to restart Battlegrounds Mobile India’s services.
He stressed the company will ensure all laws are followed and that the app will be available for download shortly. With fans across the country evidently excited more than ever, it remains to be seen when the game will finally make its marvelous return.
